One chine is now installed. David is countersinking for 3/4" screws through the side which will hold it in place. You can see the near end of the other chine (and it's odd shape, in section) which is still lying on the boat uninstalled. David is using a "tick stick", a piece of wood with tick marks in pencil, to evenly space the screws. This photo affords a good view of how the sides are attached to the stem. The small clamps help hold the end of the chine tight to the stem and side until screws are installed. The big clamps farther back aren't in service. They are hanging loose for the installation of the other chine. |
