Now the other side is being fixed to the stem. Notice that the sides need supported with saw horses (chairs work too). This is one of the stages where you will need another person to help hold things while you position parts and drive screws. It is also the stage where you will need the most room to spread out. In better weather, we do this outside then bring the boat back in. Not more than an hour or so after this point, the boat form will be in it's final dimensions, small enough that it can be completed in a typical one car garage.

The blue guy with the orange hat is longtime friend and employee David Hazen. David has been around boatbuilding most of his adult life. Prior to working at our shop, his main interest was wood strip canoe building. In fact, he wrote one of the most widely read books on wood strip canoe building " Stripper's Guide to Canoe Building" (you can find or order it at most book stores).
