Now the real fun begins, fitting the end of the handrail to the face of the stem. Buster is "scribing" a line with a pen resting on a flat stick. He is re-producing the angle in pen by carefully sliding it along the flat face of the stem. It's pretty easy, once you get the concept of a compound angle. If you don't get it right the first time, you can scribe it again and cut and/or belt sand the end again (see next photo).
